PRF Plasma: How We Help You Heal Twice as Fast — Seera Family Dental & Implant Center

One of the most common concerns patients have about dental implant surgery is the recovery. How long will it take? How much discomfort will there be? When can I get back to normal life?

At Seera Family Dental & Implant Center, we've invested in a technology that dramatically changes the answers to those questions: PRF Plasma therapy. And unlike most implant centers that charge extra for this advanced technique — or don't offer it at all — we include it with every All-on-X procedure at no additional cost.

What Is PRF Plasma?

PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin. It's a regenerative therapy derived from your own blood, used to accelerate healing after oral surgery.

Here's how it works: Before your procedure, we draw a small amount of your blood — similar to a routine blood test. We then spin it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors into a fibrin membrane or gel. This PRF is then applied directly to the surgical sites during your implant procedure.

Because PRF comes from your own body, there's no risk of rejection or allergic reaction. It's completely natural and biocompatible.

Why Does PRF Work So Well?

Platelets are the components of your blood responsible for clotting and initiating the healing process. They release growth factors — signaling proteins that tell your body to send healing cells to the area, form new blood vessels, and regenerate tissue.

By concentrating these growth factors and delivering them directly to the surgical site, PRF essentially gives your body a powerful head start on healing. The result:

  • Faster tissue regeneration — the surgical sites close and heal more quickly
  • Reduced inflammation and swelling — less post-operative discomfort
  • Lower risk of infection — the concentrated growth factors support your immune response
  • Better bone integration — implants fuse with the jawbone more reliably
  • Less need for pain medication — many patients report needing fewer or no prescription painkillers

How Much Faster Is Healing with PRF?

Clinical studies and our own patient outcomes consistently show that PRF can cut healing time roughly in half. Patients who receive PRF typically experience:

  • Significantly less swelling in the first 48–72 hours
  • Faster resolution of any bruising
  • Earlier return to normal diet and activities
  • Reduced need for follow-up visits due to complications

For our All-on-X patients, this means getting back to your life — and enjoying your new smile — much sooner than you would at a practice that doesn't use this technology.

Why Don't All Dental Practices Offer PRF?

Great question. PRF requires additional equipment (a centrifuge), training, and time. Many corporate dental chains don't offer it because it cuts into their efficiency model. Others charge it as an expensive add-on.

At Seera Family Dental, we believe advanced healing technology shouldn't be a luxury — it should be standard care. That's why we include PRF with every All-on-X procedure.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Procedure

When you come in for your All-on-X surgery, here's what the PRF process looks like:

  1. Blood draw — A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, just like a routine lab test.
  2. Centrifuge processing — The blood is spun for about 12 minutes to separate and concentrate the platelets.
  3. PRF preparation — The concentrated fibrin is formed into membranes or a gel.
  4. Application — Dr. Seera applies the PRF directly to the implant sites during surgery.

The entire process adds only a few minutes to your procedure time, but the benefits to your recovery are significant.

PRF Is Just One Part of Our Advanced Approach

PRF is one example of how Seera Family Dental goes beyond the standard of care. We also offer:

  • 3D cone beam CT scanning for precise implant placement
  • Custom-designed Zirconia final teeth — not the acrylic used at many other practices
  • Full on-site dental lab for faster turnaround and better quality control
  • Personalized care — you'll always see Dr. Seera, not a rotating associate
